Terms of Service

The rulesof the road.

These terms govern your use of the Relay Studio website and the forms on it. Engagement work is governed by a separate signed agreement — these terms cover the public-site half.

01 / Acceptance

By using the site, you agree to these terms.

By accessing or using relayhq.studio (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

If you submit any of the forms on the Site, you are also agreeing to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use the data you submit.

02 / What the Site is

A marketing site for Relay Studio.

The Site is the public-facing marketing surface for Relay Studio, a sprint-based product studio. It exists to explain what we do, share methodology in long form (Field Notes), let you reach us through forms (contact, subscribe, partner), and not much else.

The Site is not a software product. We do not host user accounts, third-party content, payment infrastructure, or service-tier features accessible through the Site itself.

If we engage you under a signed agreement (MSA, SOW, or engagement letter), that engagement is governed by its own terms. Those terms control over anything in this document for engagement-related matters.

03 / Acceptable use

Use the Site honestly. Don't break things.

You agree not to do any of the following:

  • Submit false, misleading, or impersonated information through any form on the Site.
  • Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, headless browsers operated at scale) to access the Site outside of normal browsing, except for well-behaved search-engine crawlers operating under robots.txt.
  • Attempt to access non-public portions of the Site, the underlying infrastructure, or any data not intended to be made available to you.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, the servers it runs on, or the networks connected to it (denial-of-service attempts, vulnerability scanning without authorization, etc.).
  • Use the Site to send unsolicited bulk communications, harvest email addresses or other contact information, or distribute malware.
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation in connection with your use of the Site.

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability on the Site, please report it responsibly to security@relayhq.studio before public disclosure. We will respond and coordinate remediation.

04 / Intellectual property

The content on the Site is ours.

All content on the Site — the writing in Field Notes, the methodology described, the visual identity (brand mark, typography, color), the layout, the code that runs the Site, and the underlying frameworks (other than open-source components licensed separately) — is the property of Relay Studio and is protected by US and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

You may quote short excerpts of Field Notes with attribution and a link back to the original source. You may not republish, reproduce, or create derivative works of substantial portions of the content without our written permission.

Open-source components used to build the Site remain under their respective licenses, available on request. Relay Studio claims common-law trademark rights in the name Relay Studio and the associated logo and wordmark.

05 / Third-party links and services

We don't control what's on the other end of an outbound link.

The Site links to third-party websites (for example, named processors' privacy policies, source citations in Field Notes, social platforms). We are not responsible for the content, security, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Your use of a third-party site is governed by that site's terms and policies, not ours.

06 / Disclaimers

The Site is provided as-is. Field Notes are not advice for your specific situation.

The Site is provided as is and as available without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including (but not limited to) implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.

Field Notes describe patterns and methodology we believe to be useful based on operating experience. They are not professional advice for your specific situation. Statistics cited in Field Notes are sourced from third parties and believed accurate at the time of publication, but we make no warranty of their continued accuracy.

07 / Limitation of liability

Our liability is limited to what the law allows us to limit.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Relay Studio, its founders, employees, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages — including (but not limited to) loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity — arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited (for example, liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

08 / Indemnification

If your use of the Site causes us a problem, we expect you to make us whole.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Relay Studio and its founders, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Site in violation of these Terms, (b) your violation of any law or third-party right, or (c) any content you submit to the Site that infringes or violates a third party's rights.

09 / Governing law

Indiana law. Indiana courts.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

This choice of law and forum applies to the website Terms only. Engagement contracts, if and when signed, may specify a different governing law and forum, and that engagement-specific choice controls for engagement matters.

10 / Changes to these Terms

We update this page when our practices change.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice — typically a banner on the Site for at least 30 days. Continued use of the Site after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree with a change, your remedy is to stop using the Site.
